I really have nothing better to talk about, so bear with me!! lol
To me, music is sort of like politics. Many debates are started over the topic, and it's very universal. Sometimes it's even therapy; certain songs can describe your feelings and all that general crap.
I usually try and get to know a person before I start talking about music with them. I forgot why, but I had a good reason!
Well, that's my crappy blurb for today. What's your view?

When ever I make a new friend I always ask them what kind of music they like because if we like the same bands and stuff, then we have a lot more to talk about.

0_o I never thought about that.
-is dumb-
I usually ask them what kind of shows and movies and stuff they watch, what stores they shop at, what they like to do, etc. etc.
Heh, I try to sound smart, but I end up being stupid. Typical me!

yeah I ask ppl that too,, that's like the first or second thing I ask, most the time I ask what kind of music they like before thier name!!!
to me music is everything, like music can be used for anything, therepy (as Jenny said), meditation, to give or get rid of head aches, to debate different toppics, some can be pollitical some can be emotional, it's for emotion... yeah I like to know a good bit about the artists & thier music before I really start much of a convo about them, it just makes it easier to talk about them & you have more well developed, personalised oppinion about them!

I remembered why I don't ask about musical taste anymore!
It's because I don't want their taste to be a carbon copy of mine. It's happened to me before.
Sure, we can like the same bands and stuff, but it would be nice if there was at least a little difference.
Different is good.

yeah!!!! I think that's why I made so many friends at Warped & only left the Good Charlotte concert knowing the ppl I knew way before that day, is because there are no 2 ppl at Warped who have the exact same views! at warped you can't agree with everyone about everything & that causes you to have to compramise & you end up making new friends & laughing at ppl who make fun of your favorite bands... like this big groups of guys that got in line 3 ppl behind us were making fun of Fall Out Boy but it was funny, but they were there for like the Offspring & ppl like that & then I made friends with this chick who loved MCR (just like me!) & even made her own shirt! & then a few of her friends showed up & they were really cool! but she didn't like A7x but we still got along great & just things like that!
idk... I think it's just so much easier to make friends at concerts... preferably one w/ different types of bands...
